CAPGAN 18th Biennial Meeting – Hosted by ISPGHAN, Hyderabad, India October 2023



For the Biennial Conference 2023, CAPGAN was delighted to join with the ISPGHANCONF 10th Annual National Conference in Hyderabad, India.

The highlights of the conference were:
  1. The John Walker Smith Oration
  2. State-of-the-art presentations by leading international experts in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition
  3. The “Meet the Mentor: How to be a successful Researcher” session
  4. Excellent abstracts and posters presented by delegates and the award of CAPGAN prizes
The John Walker Smith Oration was given by Prof Tahmeed Ahmed, Executive Director, iccdr,b, Bangladesh who discussed the latest developments and research findings regarding the “Microbiome Directed Diet”. The session Chairs were Dr Neelam Mohan and Prof Bhupinder Sandhu.

A new venture was an informal “Meet the Mentor: How to be a successful Researcher” session held 08.00-09.00 on Saturday, Oct 28th 2024. Small groups of delegates met with international experts experienced in clinical research. These sessions proved highly effective and feedback was very positive.
