CAPGAN is the Commonwealth professional and scientific association of paediatricians which aims to promote knowledge and training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition throughout the Commonwealth, especially amongst resource-limited countries.
CAPGAN seeks to foster collaborative research in these fields, hold regular scientific meetings and be a source of authoritative advice to both national and international agencies within the Commonwealth and globally on all issues related to paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology and in particular the problems of childhood diarrhea and malnutrition in low-resource countries.

Aims & Mission

  • Promote knowledge of and training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition throughout the Commonwealth but especially amongst resource-limited countries
  • Foster collaborative research in these fields
  • Hold regular scientific meetings
  • Be a source of authoritative information/advice to both national and international agencies within the Commonwealth and globally
  • Exert a positive influence as advocates for the welfare of children
