Dr Lubaba Shahrin, a Scientist at Dhaka Hospital, is selected as a CAPGAN Council member for the Clinical Practice (Joint) role in the council meeting. CAPGAN has a unique role in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition by linking different regions across the Commonwealth, especially with poorer countries. Dr Shahrin will jointly develop and publish country-relevant clinical guidelines and policy statements. She delivered a Webinar on the Management of Persistent Diarrhea on 19 July 2024, which appeared and circulated in the e-bulletin of CAPGAN as attached.

Prof Md. Rukunuzzaman

Prof Dr. Md Rukunuzzaman is working as a professor and chairman in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the council meeting, he is selected as a CAPGAN council member for the Clinical Practice (Lead) role. He is the secretary general of the Bangladesh Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (BASPGHAN). Prof Dr Md Rukunuzzama is working to develop clinical guidelines on obesity in children in Bangladesh. He has more than a hundred publications worldwide. He is the author of the textbook on “Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition” and “Pediatric Hepatology”. He also wrote a book chapter on hepatitis B infection in children.
